Product Description

$20 Treehugger's Cafe voucher for just $10
Can Chef Shana Trepal possibly be more creative? I didn’t think so, but I was wrong. First she infuses the healthful food she serves at her Treehuggers Café, in Berea, with such explosive flavors, you forget your meal is whole-grain, organic gluten free and/or vegetarian/vegan. Now, just a year and a half after opening the groundbreaking restaurant, she is introducing raw foods. Shana is—chopping, juicing, soaking, sprouting, dehydrating and blending—fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and gluten-free grains into nutrient-rich foods that taste and feel like cooked food.

  1. Vegi/Vegan/Responsible eating Heaven

Posted by AMSK on 22nd Jun 2010

Finally found Treehuggers, 25 miles from home, but definitely worth the wait and the miles...I am telling everyone I know who cares about responsible eating from any aspect, and going back with friends as soon as I can. Unbelievable variety on very original food choices from free-range chicken dishes, to the expected homemade soups and wraps, to fresh organic salads, to whole grain dishes, to a vegan "raw" meal. And all originally and thoughtfully named for endangered animals...plus did I mention the wonderful teas, coffees and espresso drinks, (which is really all I went for, but ended up buying a seared tofu and veggie spinach wrap that came with choice of marvelous sides..try the carrot/cranberry slaw...with a heavenly strawberry soup!! I was moaning in culinary delight back in the corner table. Also bought a rice dish, vegan breakfast muffin that has a a whole banana in each one, dry red lentils, and spelt cereal to stock my pantry! Brava to owner and her wonderful staff!

  2. Vegan Haven

Posted by Jayne RK on 19th Jun 2010

If you are looking for variety in vegan, vegetarian, or just plain healthy eating Treehugger's is your place. It's hard to find--in a strip mall near a gym and set back from Bagley Road. It's either cozy or a tight squeeze, depending how you look at it. If you can't spend the entire gift certificate with your meal, take out deli or bakery is an option. Hokey animal menu names, but tasty food.

  3. Out of this world!

The variety of healthy and delicious foods at the Treehugger's Cafe is unbelievable! I haven't ever found a place to eat quite like this! Kind staff and a comfortable atmosphere makes Treehugger's a GREAT place to go!
